Charles James Henry, son of the late Frank Henry and Bernice Haire Jackson, was born on July 21, 1951, in Palomino, Florida. He departed this life on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Mr. Henry attended school in Johnson County, North Carolina. At the age of 25, he enlisted in the US Army where he served his country for over 13 years. He received an honorable discharge and was awarded numerous awards and honors including the National Defense Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Expert Badge M-16.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents James Haire and Inez Yon; parents Frank Henry and Bernice Haire Jackson; and a brother Richard Henry.
Mr. Henry leaves to cherish his memories, four daughters, Vanessa Henry McDonald (Marcus), Christina Henry and Jacqueline Henry, all of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Charlene Henry Britt (Daniel) of Grafenwoehr, Germany; two sons, Charles James Henry, and John Gibson; one brother, Frank Henry (Margaret) of Benson, North Carolina; two sisters, Sandra Baker ( Pastor Larry) of Coates, North Carolina and Diane Black of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; three aunts Annie Mae Haire, Marie Haire and Goline McAllister; a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services Dunn, NC There will be a public viewing on Monday 07/05/2021 from 11am to 12pm fallowed by funeral service at 12pm at Family Funeral Home Dunn, NC. On Tuesday 07/06/2021 at 11am there will be an interment service at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg, Fayetteville NC.
