Joseph Bailey

Joseph Bailey of Dunn, NC departed his life peacefully at his home with family at his bedside on Tuesday afternoon April 18, 2023 He was born to the late George Graham Bailey and Retta Jane McNeill Bailey on February 23,1945 in Harnett County, Erwin, North Carolina. In his youth he lost his parents and was raised by the Late Levander and Lenora Lucas. He attended Harnett County schools. Later he married the Late Margret Byrd and from this union they had two sons Michael Byrd and Joseph Bailey (Known as Yusuf Hassan).Joseph was known for riding his bike all about town. He loved working in the yard and cutting grass. He enjoyed having fun and had a great sense of humor. He was also a master at playing horseshoes, and spending leisure time was being at his favorite hangout the local Burger King restaurant in town. Preceded in Death are both parents George Graham Bailey and Retta Jane Mc Neil, a daughter in-law Alicia Bailey, Four Sisters Della B Barton, Lina Jane Bridges, Shirley Taylor, Ora Lee Alford Two Brothers Edwin (Harvey) L Bailey, Calvin Coolidge Mc Neill, one sister in-law Mamie Bailey. Left to Cherish his memories two sons Michael Byrd of Baltimore, MD. and Joseph Bailey (Known as Yusuf Hassan) of Dunn, NC. Four Grandchildren, one sister Ester Thomas, a bother in-law John Taylor, Two aunts Mary Bailey and Mattie Bailey, Uncle Frank Bailey, a host nephew, nieces, cousins, family members friends and a special friend Elijah (Shorty) Mc Lean. A Special thanks to the Late mamie Bailey Who took care of him until her death.
