Michael DeCarl Walden

Michael DeCarl Walden of Dunn, North Carolina, departed this life on Tuesday evening January 7, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. There will be a memorial service to be announced at a later time by the family.

Micheal was born to the late Bettie L. Walden. He graduated from the Johnston County public schools and then decided to enlist in the United States Military. Micheal was known as a master carpenter and could take on jobs that many would never want to do.  He was always willing to help his neighbors and friends.  Micheal loved being a part of home improvements and never met a stranger when he was working.  He believed every Word of the Bible and would share it with anyone who would listen.  Micheal was a very smart man and sometimes even quiet.  He could walk into a room; everyone knew he was there with wisdom and charm.  He loved reminding his sisters that he was the firstborn and he lovingly gave them nicknames.

Micheal leaves to cherish his memory of four sons, Michael Jr.,  Demetrius, Tyrone  A., and Dante all of Texas. Annie L. Walden mother of his children.  Two sisters Zannetta Harper and Gwendolyn Walden of Alexandria, Va one sister-in-law Sylvia Walden and one brother-in-law Carlos Harper. He was preceded in death by his devoted brother Marion (Bill) Walden who he called Muffin and a niece Jenna Walden and Aunt Nezzie Saunders.  He leaves a very special friend Glenda. He also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
