Rose Mae Ferguson- Ross

 Rose Ferguson Ross the daughter of Narcissie Smith Ferguson Blanding and Henry Ferguson was born in Dunn, NC on July 28, 1925 and departed this life on January 21, 2020 at 1004 N McKay Ave. Dunn, NC. She was a faithful member of Kingdom Hall for many years. At an early age her family moved to Richmond, VA where she completed her education, married Howard William Ross and raised 4 children - William F. Ross (deceased), Howard M Ross, Sarah E. Ross and Alfred L. Ross (deceased). For several years she worked at McGuire VA Hospital attending to WWII veterans. She moved to Newark, NJ in the early 50's. After raising her children, she relocated to Queens and Brooklyn, NY to be close to family before returning to Dunn to care for her mother. Despite being a longtime member of the American Handicap Association, she never thought of herself as handicap. Throughout her life she was known as the family caregiver. She cared for her family as well as family of friends and neighbors, babysitting and elderly care. She was a family legend and will be greatly missed. The family thanks God for her long life that has greatly enriched us. The family also thanks the Liberty Hospice healthcare team for their caring and professional assistance. She leaves to cherish her memory: two children, Howard M. Ross of Erwin, NC, Sarah E. Ross of Durham, NC, Daughter-in-Law, Patricia Ross; grandchildren Marilyn J. Ross (Ronald Ross), April M. Ross, Marcellus J. Ross, William Johnson Ross, India Ross Banner (Joseph Banner), Serina Moore, Lashanda Warfield; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and many friends whose life she has touched. There will be a Celebration of Life and Legacy  Saturday January 25th 2020 11 am - 4 pm At her home in Dunn, NC.
