Mr. Shorts passed away February 21, 2021, at home in Dunn, NC. Mr. Shorts was born in Delaware and the son of the late Richard “Dickie” and Ann Shorts. He grew up in Little Creek, DE working with his father crabbing, eeling, and fishing in the bay. He moved to North Carolina and became an electrician..                                                                                                              He is survived by his wife Carolyn of NC, sons Leroy (Tracy) of Hawaii, and Gene (Brittany) of Virginia, daughter Sarah of NC; grandchildren Brittney, Caitlyn, Cole, Ethan, and Steven; sister Valerie Shorts of Virginia, cousins Mike and Mark Bundek (Peggy) of Delaware; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Dunn, NC. There will be a private family service.
